In fact, the entire battery of tests (thryoid, liver, kidney functions) were great. He gave me a test kit and 3 wks of blood tests average 110 (152 highest after eating ice cream/88 lowest). Yet, glucose urine test strips still occasionally show sugar in urine. I started out with some suspected diabetic symptoms (dry mouth/thirst/frequent urination) but they went away after one week. I’m schedule for a Glucose Tolerance Test this week. I am a 44/F 135lbs non-smoking, very healthy diet, etc.. Any ideas what’s up?
I don’t eat sweets (I ate ice cream last week which I do once a month if that), no candy/cookies, no soda pop but I do like carbs. However, ever since sugar starting showing up I’ve cut back on breads, starches, etc. Still sugar in urine.

I was thirsty all the time and I had sugar in my urine at the time that my doctor labeled me a diabetic. I immediately freaked and watched my diet, lost weight and my A1C went into the 5 range within a 6 month period. I have never had the glucose tolerance 2 hour test or any other test to prove that I am truly a diabetic. I just believed my doctor years ago until recently when I was reading getting more educated about diabetes. I am wondering if I am not truly a diabetic, but possibly a prediabetic. I recently started seeing a new doctor and I told him I really am not convinced that I am a diabetic. He offered for me to have the 2 hour test if I wanted to have it. Do you think that is a good idea to finally put my mind at ease? Am I really a diabetic. After all these years, could the diagnosis been wrong? I take my blood test many times, and watch carefully the kinds of things I eat and rarely is my blood sugar above 120 after 2 hours of eating.

I have a lot of symptoms of being diabetic, yet the major one-being thirsty all the time- doesn’t fit me.

My father is a diabetic his body become thinner as compared before why he become thinner?. Also besides from checking your blood sugar, what is the best way to know that you are diabetic without.. symptoms to be exact. I was 27 years old most of my friend said diabetis is a heriditary. What is the best way to avoid become diabetic…
