I have to do a paper for school on genetic disorders, so I picked diabetes since my family has a history of it.

But, I don’t know what type of diabetes I should do it on.
I put it down to either Maturity onset diabetes of the young [MODY] or type 1 of diabetes.

I need to research what chromosome/where in the chromosome it is found, detection, etc.
Please pick whichever has more info/is more simple to explain! Thanks!

I have notoriously bad blood sugar readings, and I have been trying very hard to get control of my type one diabetes. Just the other day a few of my friends wanted to try and see what it was like to test their blood sugar, and I let them, because it would get me some good readings. Can my doctor, parents, or anyone who looks on this meter find out that I cheated that day?

My unit is the Accu Chek Aviva.
